Acceptable stay with some drawbacks

poor attitude confusing experience
The front desk staff needs additional training. During check-in I stated my intention to pay with Chinese RMB and put the security hold on my card. The receptionist claimed I could not pay cash after 6 PM. He told me I could pay cash at checkout. The same receptionist then said the security hold release would take 21 days. He wanted to release the security hold, then charge the room again. It was very confusing and his attitude was not good.

central location efficient staff excellent service
The location is Central. i walked to the bund and yu garden with ease. The breakfast staff was efficient, also helpful. Concierge staff did give excellent service. I did appreciate the good coffee.
i had an issue with the front desk. The receptionist gave confusing information regarding cash payments. they also mentioned card security holds and room charges. everything he said made little sense, and his attitude wasnt good.

very nice buffet helpful staff amazing service
The breakfast buffet was ABSOLUTELY very nice!!! I could have anything I wanted. The staff anticipated my needs, bringing tea and coffee as soon as I sat down. Jerry, the concierge, were very good too help me purchase wine. His service was just amazing!!!
The hotel's rooms need some updating. The decor felt a bit outdated.
